Cabo San Lucas

Cabo is a wonderful place for a romantic getaway, a perfect party town, or the best of both worlds. You can take a little boat out to lovers beach and watch the clear waters gently lap at the sand. Afterwards, you can go back to the hotel and get ready for some of the greatest nightclubs you’ve ever been to! If the party scene just isn’t your thing there are plenty of activities to do as a couple. This is an outstanding destination because you can pretty much do anything you please, it’s cheap, and its absolutely breathtaking!! Another bonus is that the weather stays relatively warm throughout the year making Cabo a great idea no matter which month you choose to come!

Lets start with food

Our favorites were:

1. The Office

I am not kidding you- we ate here for breakfast EVERY SINGLE DAY! By the third day everyone began to recognize us and were so kind and happy that we kept coming back. There was no point to go anywhere else for breakfast because I can guarantee this spot is the best. The fresh tortillas, the shrimp omelets, the pineapple stuffed with fresh fruit…I wish I was enjoying this right now. Not to mention the coffee and the mimosas with fresh squeezed OJ. If you don’t go here at least once during your stay you are seriously missing out!

2. Tacos Guss (Is a must!)

 IMG_9375

Were from Arizona and there are plenty of tacos here. We’ve tried so many and as soon as we bit into the warm tortilla right off the grill, stuffed with which ever meat your heart desires and all the toppings you could ever want- we looked at each other and agreed these were it. The best tacos we’ve ever had! There are many little taco stands in Cabo but they don’t compare to Tacos Guss. Not to mention you can get a taco for about $1.25. They bring you out a huge platter of toppings so you can load up your taco to your liking.

3. Mi Casa

I LOVED this place. I can’t think of anything better to start with, I just LOVED it. The food was cooked to perfection and the margaritas were just like a liked em’ – huge with lots of tequila. The service was incredible and since we went on a weeknight we pretty much got right in! It does get busy so call ahead and check to see if you need a reservation for the time you want to go.

4.InVita Bistro

IMG_7997

If you get a little burnt out on Mexican cuisine then this is the perfect place for you. You can get excellent Italian food for an extremely fair price! Save room for dessert, the Tiramisu is delicious!

5. Cabo Wabo

IMG_8090

The food here is good but I’m actually suggesting Cabo Wabo for the drinks and the atmosphere. They had two for one tequila shots (which were surprisingly smooth) and two for one beer specials! Another reason to stop by is because missing out on the inside of this place would be a sin. It looks like Sammy himself decorated the entire place. The walls are covered with rock n roll memorabilia. We went for New Years Eve and Sammy Hagar was even coming to preform for the evening! So, if you feel like tossing back more than a couple drinks then don’t skip Cabo Wabo.

6. Daikoku

Whenever I’m feeling slightly nauseous from having one too many the night before, I love a great bowl of pho! I always get the udon noodles and of course I load it up with veggies. This restaurant is perfect for soups and great sushi rolls. I highly recommend eating here during your vacation! They make a fantastic margaita as well.

TO DO:

1. El Arco/Window to Pacific/Lovers&Divorce Beach

IMG_7889IMG_8112

El Arco is a must do in Cabo. When you go to get a boat ask for a glass bottom boat, they only cost about 7$ per person and you get to see the fish below you. When we snagged one it was just Michael and I and we had a great time. The boat driver was very accommodating and brought us up As close to the Window to the Pacific as he could, as well as showing us Lovers Beach and Divorce beach. He also showed up the Lands End and where the sea lions lie out to sun bathe. It was well worth the money and we got some greats photos.

2. El Squid Roe

IMG_9386

We went to Cabo to celebrate New Years Eve. Granted there are plenty of bars selling tickets to get into their party, Pink Kitty even had no cover charge! BUT if you want to go to craziest bash on the block AND that is actually easy on your wallet then El Squid Roe is the place for you. They have the most interesting decorations that are beyond photo worthy and guaranteed to make you laugh. Even after New Years Eve we came to Squid Roe during the day (no cover charge of course) and we had a blast. The people behind the bars sat and talked with us, danced on the bartop and even took some shots with us! We spent hours in there laughing, chatting and getting some insight on what it’s like to live in Cabo. The conclusion we came to was- It’s incredible.

3. Hang with the Locals

IMG_9379

This is one of the best parts of visiting! All of the amazing people we met during our stay made this experience that much more memorable. When you travel here, being shy is not an option! When you’re sitting at a bar staring at your beer it can get dull. Strike up a conversation with the bartender or the people next to you! If you don’t end up having a good laugh I’d be surprised.

4. Dance at Havana Underground

This nightclub is rumored to play some of the best music that you can get down to in town. It is open late and it is about a 5 minute walk from Tacos Guss (Bonus!) We didn’t get the chance to check it out but we met the most wonderful woman during our trip that invited us out to go! I still wish we could have made it. She has lived in Cabo for a long time and Havana is one of her favorite places to party. I would recommend checking it out if you want to dance and listen to some techno!

5. Wander Downtown Cabo

IMG_9369IMG_8171

Downtown is where all the action is. Some of the coolest bars we went to were located all within walking distance from eachother. Hooligans, which is a great Canadian sports bar, has yummy food and great deals on beer. Two of our other favorites include the Jungle Bar, where if you’re lucky enough you’ll get to meet Bruno the Bulldog and The Giggling Marlin which honestly has some of the best ceviche I’ve ever tasted.

6. CABO Sign

IMG_7977

Located by the Marina you’ll find the #CABO sign. It makes for a great photo and if luck will have it, the sign won’t have too many people crawling all over it so you won’t have to wait forever to get your shot! There are plenty of bars and restaurants around as well so afterwards you can grab a beer or a bite to eat.

BONUS

Edith’s

IMG_8007

This restaurant has an outstanding reputation in Cabo. We tried to get in one night and the staff told us they were booked up for an entire month!! If you want a chance to dine at the best then plan to call ahead! Even before your get away officially starts and if you’re lucky enough to get in let me know how it is!!
